What is the Digital and IT Skills Level 2 course?

The Digital and IT Skills Level 2 course at West Notts College is a FREE adult course that helps you develop advanced digital skills for work, further study and everyday life.

You'll learn how to create professional documents using word processing software, produce and manage spreadsheets effectively, and gain a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.

The course focuses on practical, transferable skills that employers value and can be applied across a wide range of careers.


Who should study the Digital and IT Skills Level 2 course?

This course is suitable for adults aged 19 and over who:

  • Want to improve their digital skills
  • Need IT skills for employment or career progression
  • Want to develop advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Would like to achieve a Level 2 qualification
  • Are returning to education after a break

Some existing digital skills will be beneficial before starting this course.


What will you learn on the Digital and IT Skills Level 2 course?

During the course you'll learn how to:

  • Produce professional documents using word processing software
  • Create, edit and format documents efficiently
  • Use spreadsheet software confidently
  • Organise, calculate and present data
  • Apply digital skills in work and everyday situations
  • Develop practical IT skills valued by employers

You'll also gain a Level 2 accredited qualification.

  • Monday 7 September to Monday 30 November 2026
  • Monday 7 December 2026 to Monday 8 March 2027
  • Monday 15 March to Monday 21 June 2027

When do classes take place?

  • Mondays, 9.30am to 11.30am

This course is FREE.


How is the Digital and IT Skills Level 2 course delivered?

The course is delivered through face-to-face lessons at the Old Town Hall, Mansfield in small adult-only groups.

Learning combines tutor demonstrations, practical activities and individual support to help you develop workplace-ready digital skills.
