Skills Bootcamps for employed or self-employed individuals are flexible, and career-focused courses designed for adults aged 19 and over. Created in partnership with local employers, these short part-time courses teach you in-demand skills tailored to modern industry.

Employed individuals
From only £220 per learner*:
- Electrical: Test and Inspect – Develop skills and be able to undertake new roles in inspecting, testing, and certifying electrical installations (for individuals working in the electrical installation industry)
- Engineering and Manufacturing – Enhance your existing engineering and manufacturing skills, and develop industry-relevant skills to help you progress into a new role or undertake new duties
- Sustainable Leadership for First-Line Managers – Equip yourself with the knowledge, behaviours and practical skills needed to embed sustainability into everyday operations and decision making
- Future Leader: AI in Change Management – Learn management and leadership capabilities required to successfully introduce new ways of working.
Unemployed individuals
Free subject to eligibility:
- Groundworks, Civil and Land Preparation, and Maintenance – Prepare yourself with the practical skills, industry knowledge, and recognised qualifications required to progress directly into employment within the industry for ground work/preparation and skilled labour roles
- Welding for the Workplace – Study industry level core welding skills, health and safety, and train with industry experts.
Entry Requirements
The Skills Bootcamps are only available to individuals funded through an employer or for those who are self-employed. Other courses may be available to those not able to meet this criteria. For further information, please contact our enquiries team on 0808 100 3626.
These are the basic entry requirements for our Skills Bootcamps. Please check the individual course pages for any additional or course-specific requirements.
- Have an interest and passion for the industry.
- Be aged 19 or over.
- Been a resident in the UK for the last 3 years and living within the Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire area.
- Learners declaring previous convictions will undertake a review and if required, attend an exceptional needs panel.
Please note: If you have any licence conditions stating that you must not have unsupervised contact with under 18’s then your application cannot be processed or accepted due to the course being held on a site where there are students aged under 18. To avoid any disappointment or confusion please do not apply if this is the case.
