How much does it cost?

Please note: the costs below are for academic year 2025/26 and are subject to change for academic year 2026/2027.

Students aged 16-18 £261 — flexible monthly payments spread over and up to 9 months* — provides 11 months’ travel from 1 September to 31 July (see point 2 below)
Termly payment students aged 16-18, West Notts College adult learners aged 19+ £188 per term*
Autumn term: 1 September — 19 December
Spring term: 5 January — 27 March
Summer term: 13 April — 26 June
T-Level students Free — enabling T-Level students to attend their mandatory placements with employers. Provides 11 months’ travel from 1 September to 31 July (see point 3 below)
Adult learners aged 19+ £477 — flexible monthly payments spread over and up to 9 months* – provides 11 months’ travel from 1 September to 31 July (see point 2 below)
Apprentices (any age) £49 per month — provides travel all year round
West Notts College staff £63 per month — provides travel all year round
  1. If your household income is less than £40,000 per year, then you may be eligible for a bursary. Please contact the student finance team at This email address is being protected from spambots.   2. If you live within 2km (1.24 miles) or less from the college campus you attend, you will still be able to sign-up to the travel scheme but will pay £477 (irrespective of whether you qualify for a bursary). However, if there are legitimate reasons that prevent you from getting to college, you may be eligible to pay the lower price of £261. If you study at two campuses and one of these is more than 2km (1.24 miles) from your home, then you will pay £261.
  3. Free for new and returning T-Level students for academic year 2025/2026. This is subject to change for academic year 2026/2027.

*The final balance must be paid by 28 April. Payments will be split across the remaining months from when you first joined the scheme.


How do I sign up?

  • New students can join the travel scheme during enrolment. Once you’ve signed your learning agreement, you’ll receive an invite code by text and email.
  • Continuing students on two-year courses (e.g. A Levels) will receive a new invite code each year.

FAQs

  • How do I join the travel scheme?

    • New students – You can join during enrolment. You’ll get your invite code sent by text or email and will also be listed on your learning agreement. You will then need to activate a my mano account. See the ‘How do I register for a my mango account’ FAQ below for full details.
    • Returning students - A new invite code is issued each year when you sign your learning agreement. Don’t try to renew or join until you’ve received your new invite code.
    • Apprentices and staff - Request an invite code from our Customer Enquiries Team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

    How do I register for a my mango account?

    1. Download the my mango app (iOS or Android).
    2. Open the app to create an account. You will be required to verify your email.

    Steps 3 and 4 will take place during enrolment.

    1. On the my mango app go to Account > Travel Schemes and tap the envelope icon to enter your invite code provided by the college, and follow the prompts.
    2. Add your college/learner ID, date of birth, and set up payments if needed.
    3. Once activated, your app will display a QR code for unlimited travel within the scheme area. You will not be charged for any journey made within the scheme boundary. Any travel outside this boundary will be chargeable.

  • When can I sign up to the travel scheme?

    • Students can join any time after receiving their invite code.
    • Joining later in the year means higher monthly payments, as costs are spread over fewer months (up to 28 April).
    • Apprentices and staff can join any time and pay a fixed monthly rate (valid all year).

  • Can I use the scheme outside college hours?

    Yes! You can travel all day, every day, including evenings and weekends, throughout the period that your travel entitlement is valid.

  • Can I get a refund if I leave college early?

    You can cancel any time and pay up to the end of that month. Refunds aren’t available for the remaining days of a cancelled month.
