Every student is now required to complete a work placement as part of their course. Study programmes and industry placements give students the chance to understand the workplace firsthand - experiencing real-life work patterns, connecting with employees, and seeing how organisations operate. This experience is invaluable for their development.
Why is placement so beneficial?
Combining classroom study with real-world placements allows students to gain hands-on experience within your organisation. Placements also help students develop essential skills such as time management, prioritising tasks, networking, communication, and confidence - skills they will carry into their careers.
We’ll work closely with you
We understand how important it is to prepare students to be ‘work-ready’ from day one. Our team will work closely with you to create a placement schedule that benefits both your business and the student. To host a placement, your business must have valid Employers’ Liability Insurance (ELI) - and if needed, we can connect you with a local insurance broker who can offer free advice and support.
Offering placements is also a great way to bring fresh talent into your business and the wider sector. With your support, you’ll be helping to shape the next generation of skilled workers.
How you can support
There are several ways you can help our students get to know your industry:
- Employer talks
- Workplace tours
- Short placements from 3-5 days
- Extended industry placements of 45 days (315+ hours).
