Healthcare and Health Sciences
Are you looking to start a rewarding career helping others? Our healthcare and health sciences courses will give you the important skills necessary to continue on to university to study nursing, paramedics, and social work, and progress into careers in caring roles such as healthcare support assistants.
- Tutors with industry experience
Our tutors have a wealth of skills and knowledge from their real-world experiences in nursing, social work, the care sector, and disabilities. You’ll be taught by experienced tutors ready to give you the skills and support you need to progress in your chosen area in this challenging, yet rewarding sector.
- University-level study on your doorstep
Our Derby Road campus is home to Nottingham Trent University’s Mansfield Hub, where you can continue your studies to university-level without moving campus. You’ll also receive a reduced UCAS offer if you decide to go to Nottingham Trent University after college. Find out more.
- Take part in fundraising
As a full-time student, you’ll be able to actively participate in a range of fundraising activities that support local and national charities. Not only will you raise funds, but you’ll also help raise awareness within the local community. In the past, our students have organised impactful events like Christmas markets and non-uniform days to support a diverse range of local charities, including The Lashes Foundation, Storehouse, and John Eastwood Hospice. You also might get the opportunity to develop your skills by engaging in the NHS Cadets youth volunteering programme.
- Purpose-built facilities
For our full-time students, you’ll get hands-on experience from day one with our brand-new simulated hospital ward, designed to reflect real-life situations and working environments. The ward includes our own range of robotic patients that can tell you all about how they are feeling using AI. You’ll also have the opportunity to use our interactive dissection table, allowing you to see the body in 3D.
