  • Cost - FREE for adults aged 19 or over (on 31 August 2025), regardless of employment status.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
While this course may be offered to you free of charge, failure to complete the course may result in a £125 administration fee. This fee covers the administrative costs associated with non-completion.

  • Principles of communication in adult social care settings
  • Principles of diversity, equality and inclusion in adult social care settings
  • Principles of personal development in adult social care settings
  • Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
  • Understand health and safety in social care settings
  • Understand how to handle information in social care settings
  • Understand person-centred approaches in adult and social care
  • Understand the role of the social care worker.
  • Entry requirements
    • No specific entry requirements, but a minimum of a GCSE grade 4-9 in English and Maths (or equivalent) is recommended  
    • Applicants must live in England and not live in the locations listed here
    • Applicants must have been living in the UK for the last 3 years.
  • Assessment
    • Assessment is done through internal evaluations, checked by external quality assurance.
    • To achieve a Pass, all learning outcomes and criteria must be met - no grading system is used.
  • Progression

    Options to consider available through other training providers:

    • Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) - Level 2 
    • Diploma in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care - Level 3
