Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems (Online) - Level 2

Overview

The qualification develops learners’ knowledge and understanding of a range of mental health issues, including general mental health, stress, anxiety, depression, phobias, dementia and other conditions which may significantly affect the mental health of a person.

Learners will be given a thorough grounding in what is meant by mental health terminology, possible causes and triggers of each condition, how each condition can affect the lives of the people living with them and how conditions may be managed.

The qualification is designed to develop knowledge and skills in this subject area.

The distance learning courses are completely free for anyone aged 19 or over (on the 31st August 2024), irrespective of their current employment status, but applicants must live in the UK in a non-devolved area.

While this course may be offered to you free of charge, failure to complete the course may result in a £125 administration fee. This fee covers the administrative costs associated with non-completion.   • Understanding eating disorders
  • Understanding mental health
  • Understanding Obsessive Compulsive Disorder OCD
  • Understanding phobias
  • Understand Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD
  • Understand postnatal depression
  • Understand schizophrenia
  • Understanding stress

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements, however learners should have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

All applicants must live in England and NOT live in one of the locations listed here.


How long is the course?

Total time to achieve this qualification is 160 hours of guided learning.

These hours are made up of all contact time, guidance or supervision of a tutor.

How will I be assessed?

The qualification is assessed by internally set and marked assessments subject to external quality assurance.

All learning outcomes and assessment criteria must be met to achieve a Pass – there is no grading.
