West Nottinghamshire College, in partnership with Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Nottingham Trent University (NTU), is inviting the public to explore the wide range of career opportunities available within the NHS at its up-coming ‘Step into the NHS’ showcase.

Come along to the Step into the NHS careers showcase at the Derby Road campus.

The event will take place on Thursday 5 March, from 5.30pm to 7pm, at the college’s Derby Road campus, Mansfield.

This free event offers a valuable opportunity for anyone interested in a career in the NHS to gain insight into both clinical and non-clinical roles, learn about career pathways, and speak directly with NHS professionals. With over 350 different careers available within the NHS, the showcase aims to help attendees understand the many routes into healthcare – whether they are students, job seekers, career changers, or simply exploring future options.

Visitors will have the chance to meet representatives from a wide range of Sherwood Forest Hospitals teams and departments, including Electronic Patient Records (EPR), Pathology, Waiting List, Maternity, Therapy Services, Estates and Facilities, Outpatient Booking and Call Centre, Radiology, Operating Theatres, Apprenticeships, Medical Workforce and Medical Education, Rostering Services, Recruitment, NHIS (IT Services), Women and Children’s Administration Teams, Practice Development Matrons, Pharmacy, and Hospital Governors.

Friends and family are also welcome to attend and learn more about the opportunities available within the NHS.

Nikki Slack, assistant principal at the college, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be hosting the ‘Step into the NHS’ showcase and to continue building on our strong partnership with Sherwood Forest Hospitals and NTU. This event gives our students and the wider community a fantastic opportunity to explore the breadth of careers available within the NHS – from frontline clinical roles to the many essential support and specialist professions behind the scenes.

“Helping people understand their future options is a key part of what we do at the college, and events like this allow individuals of all ages to see what’s possible, speak directly to professionals, and feel inspired about their next steps.”

The event’s key message remains: “Could your future career be in the NHS?” Attendees are encouraged to come along to gain insight into NHS roles, explore training and apprenticeship opportunities, and discover how their skills could fit within healthcare.
