Supported Internship - Level 1 to Level 2

The Supported Internship is a supported employment programme designed for young people with additional educational needs and an Education, Health, and Care Plan in their last year of college.
The course is designed to allow students to gain confidence and employability skills ready for the workplace.
The course will include a combination of classroom based learning and work placement hours with an employer or within an industry of the learner’s choice, with the potential to lead to paid employment.
With help from a college job coach, students will be supported to find and access an appropriate work placement that meets their needs, aspirations, helps to build their confidence and also supports them to become independent.

What will I study?
- Employability Skills – including CV writing and interview skills
- Taster days with employers
- Work based mandatory training courses
- A 6 month work placement
- Professional portfolio building
- English/maths.
You will develop employability skills through a range of various occupational pathways which include:
- Customer service
- Customer rights
- Responsibilities in the workplace
- Team building activities
- Build your self-confidence
- Improving your personal and social development.

- No formal entry requirements
- You will be expected to complete an initial assessment. In order to be able to study a supported internship individuals will need an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
