What is the managing AI adoption course?

These AI for Managers Level 3 qualifications at West Notts College helps supervisors, team leaders and managers learn how to use artificial intelligence tools to improve productivity, manage change and support teams.

These adult only courses teach practical ways to use AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot safely and effectively in the workplace.

You will also develop leadership and management skills to help organisations introduce AI responsibly.

Award

  • Classroom attendance: 3 weeks
  • Additional learning: supported study and assignment work through the CMI portal
  • You will complete the unit: AI Awareness for First Line Manager.

Certificate

  • Classroom attendance: 6 weeks
  • Additional learning: supported study and assignment work through the CMI portal
  • You will complete the following units:
    • AI Awareness for First Line Manager
    • Nurturing a Culture of AI Readiness.

Diploma

  • Includes the classroom attendance required for the Award and Certificate, followed by additional learning delivered through webinars and one-to-one tutorials.
  • You will complete the following additional units:
    • Navigating the Adoption of AI Technologies
    • Managing Teams through AI Implementation
    • Utilising AI for Stakeholder Communication
    • Managing Data and Information with AI.

Course fees depend on the qualification level:

  • Award: £349
  • Certificate: £599*
  • Diploma: £995*

*Payment plans are available for the Certificate and Diploma courses. You can pay 25% at enrolment with the remaining balance paid via instalments by Direct Debit.

How are the course delivered?

These qualifications are delivered as part-time evening study for adults aged 19+.

The Award and Certificate qualifications are classroom-based, allowing you to learn alongside other professionals in a supportive environment.

The Diploma qualification is class-room based, followed by a series of webinars and one to one tutorials.

All learners also receive additional supported study and assignment guidance through the CMI learning portal provided by the Chartered Management Institute.


When do classes take place?

Classes take place on Tuesday evenings from 6pm-8.30pm, making the course suitable for people who are working during the day.

  • Entry requirements

    These courses are only available to adults aged 19+.

    • No AI experience needed but confidence using a PC, email, Microsoft Word and the internet (tutors will guide you step by step)
    • Level 2 or equivalent experience in English
    • Some experience of leading or coaching others such as in a team leader role or wanting to progress to a team leader role.
  • Assessment

    The number of assignments depends on the qualification you choose.

    • Award - One unit assignment
    • Certificate - Two unit assignments
    • Diploma - Up to seven unit assignments

    Each assignment allows you to apply what you have learned about artificial intelligence, leadership and workplace implementation.

  • Progression

    After completing these courses, you can progress to higher-level leadership and management qualifications.

    Progression options may include:

    • Level 5 leadership and management qualifications
    • Professional development in AI implementation and digital transformation
    • Courses focused on organisational change and innovation
    • Advanced management training with the Chartered Management Institute.
