CIPD Platinum CentreAs one of the CIPD Approved Centres, West Notts College successfully deliver this Level 3 qualification. Based on the new Profession Map, this qualification focuses on the knowledge and behaviours required to create value and make an impact in the changing world of work. This new qualification sets the standard for people professionals.

There are two options to gaining this CIPD Foundation Certificate within the college to support your learning style, on-campus or blended learning (online and on-campus).

Qualifications we offer at West Notts:

This is a foundation level professional qualification and provides a strong basis to give people professional’s confidence in their capabilities and behaviours. It will teach the fundamental skills and knowledge required to follow a HR or learning and development career. 

Who is the qualification suitable for?

The qualification is designed for learners aged 16+ who want to learn about people practice. It is suitable for individuals who are considering a career in HR or working in a support role in People Practice and wanting to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence to be more effective in their role.


Start dates and fees

Evening - Part-time Course - taught face-to-face in the evening, once a week.

The course fee can either be paid in full or in four instalments.

If you wish to pay in instalments, you will be required to pay 25% (£348.75) of the total fee on the day of enrolment and a Direct Debit mandate would then need to be completed to enable the college to collect a further three payments of £348.75 bi-monthly. The payments will be taken on the date you choose on the Direct Debit mandate form.

On top of the course fees, you will be required to join The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). A joining fee and membership fee will be payable.

  • Entry requirements
    • GCSE English language and Maths grade A*-C/4-9 (or equivalent) 
    • Completion of an initial face to face or telephone interview to ascertain whether the course is suitable and right for you.
  • Assessment

    The course is mainly face to face, with a variety of teaching and assessment methods. There are no exams. 

    There is a requirement for some independent study and this is supported by a range of resources from our Learning Resource Centre and other platforms such as Moodle and Microsoft Teams.

    Once you have completed the foundation qualification you can progress further to the Associate level qualifications.
