CIPD Platinum Centre

This adult-only (19+) part-time course is designed for HR professionals who want to develop their expertise and progress into more senior people management roles.

As a CIPD Approved Centre, West Notts College delivers the Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, aligned with the CIPD Profession Map. The course focuses on the knowledge, behaviours and practical skills required to create value and make a meaningful impact within organisations.

This qualification builds on the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice and is suitable for those already working in HR who want to deepen their knowledge, strengthen their professional capability and advance their career.

You can study this course either on campus or through blended learning (a mix of online and on-campus study) to suit your lifestyle and work commitments.

If you have been out of education for a while, our experienced tutors will support you throughout your studies. You will learn in small classes with other like-minded adults, creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment.

If you feel unsure about using tools such as email, Microsoft Word or Microsoft Teams, do not worry. We will support you step by step. You will have guidance from an assessor throughout your studies, and we also offer free short digital and IT courses for adults to help you build confidence before starting a qualification like this.

These are studied using a state of the art online learning platform with access to a live tutor.

Once per month a tutorial group will be held at our Derby Road Campus, to support your development and share best practices.


Start date, attendance and fee

  • Start date - TBC
  • Attendance - Online study with monthly on-campus tutorials held once per month in an evening.
  • Fee - £1,995

Don’t let paying for the course hold you back from achieving your goals. You can split the cost of this course over four instalments. If you wish to pay in instalments, you will be required to pay 25% (£498.75) of the total fee on the day of enrolment and a Direct Debit mandate would then to be completed to enable the college to collect further three payments of £498.75 bi-monthly. The payments will be taken on the date you choose on the Direct Debit mandate form.

On top of the course fees, you will be required to join The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). A joining fee and membership fee will be payable.

  • Entry requirements

    This course is only available to adults aged 19+.

    • GCSE English Language and Maths grade 4-9/C-A*
    • Completion of an initial face to face or telephone interview to ascertain whether the course is suitable and right for you.
    • Part of the requirement for the level 5 course is that learners are in a HR/People Practice role or they have acquired prior learning and experience which will ensure the qualification is appropriate.
