Overview

This FREE* adult-only (19+) part-time 12-week course introduces you to the essential principles of cybersecurity and how to protect IT systems and data from accidental and malicious threats.

You will explore common security risks, system vulnerabilities and the impact of issues such as data loss, loss of integrity and unauthorised access. You will also discover the tools and techniques used to protect individuals and organisations, helping you understand how cyber threats are identified, prevented and managed.

Whether you are looking to improve your digital awareness for work or personal use, this course will build your confidence and understanding in a supportive environment.

Do not worry if you have been out of education for some time. Our tutors have many years of experience supporting adult learners back into the classroom and will guide you every step of the way. You will study in small, supportive classes alongside other like-minded adults, creating a relaxed and encouraging learning environment.

Start/end date - Tuesday 17 March to Tuesday 23 June
Attendance - Three hours per week, Tuesdays, 1.30-4.30pm
Fee - Free*
