The Hidden Life of Crystals course at West Notts College in Mansfield is an adult leisure course that explores the history, folklore, science and symbolism behind crystals. Designed for complete beginners and those with an existing interest, this course provides a welcoming environment to discover the fascinating stories and traditions connected to crystals.
You'll learn in a calm, supportive classroom where experienced tutors guide you through each topic at a comfortable pace. If you've been away from education for a while, you'll receive plenty of encouragement and support throughout your learning journey.

This course is ideal for adults aged 19 and over who:

Please note that, as a returning learner, this would then involve a cost per session. The course tutor will explain the options during the course, but feel free to get in touch should you require further information.
When does the Hidden Life of Crystals course start?
Choose from the following start dates:
- Tuesday 8 September to Tuesday 15 December 2026 (13 weeks)
- Monday 4 January to Monday 22 March 2027 (11 weeks)
When do classes take place?
Classes take place from 6.00pm to 8.00pm one evening each week.
How much does the Hidden Life of Crystals course cost?
- FREE for eligible new learners*
- £5 per session for returning learners on a low income*
- £10 per session for returning learners on a higher income*

How is the Hidden Life of Crystals course delivered?
The course is delivered face-to-face at the Derby Road campus, Mansfield, through weekly evening sessions. Lessons combine tutor-led discussions, demonstrations and practical learning activities in a relaxed adult learning environment.
