Gym Instruction and Personal Training - Level 3

Overview

Turn your passion for fitness into a career with this FREE* Level 3 Gym Instruction and Personal Training qualification.

This adult-only (19+) part-time course is designed to provide the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to work as a gym instructor or personal trainer in a variety of fitness settings.

You will learn about the role and responsibilities of a fitness professional, develop practical coaching skills, and gain the technical knowledge needed to support clients in achieving their fitness goals.

If you have been away from education for a while, do not worry. Our tutors are experienced in supporting adult learners and will guide you throughout your studies. You will learn in small, supportive classes alongside other adults, creating a relaxed and motivating environment.

By the end of the course, you will have the skills and industry-recognised qualification needed to begin or progress your career in the fitness industry.

What will I study?

  • The principles of working in the gym environment, including customer service and how to maintain health, safety and welfare
  • Anatomy and physiology of how to conduct consultations and promote the health benefits of physical activity
  • How to communicate effectively and motivate clients to adhere to an exercise programme
  • How to plan and prepare a gym-based exercise programme
  • Nutrition to support a physical activity programme
  • Marketing and business planning
  • Personal training programming and delivering personal training session.
