Advanced Manufacturing - Level 3

This course provides an in-depth introduction to a career in engineering and has been designed to support the development of aspiring engineers through the delivery of a range of knowledge and skills.
Delivered over two years, the course breaks down into:
Year 1 - Award in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Year 2 - Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
What will I study?
Units include:
- Health and safety
- Mechanical principles
- Electrical principles
- Engineering mathematics
- Computer-aided Design (CAD)
- Computer-aided Manufacturing (CAM)
- CNC machining
- Robotics and automation.
- Entry requirements
- Grade 4 in English Language, Maths and Science - a Technology subject such as Resistant Materials, Design & Technology or Engineering is preferable but not essential
OR
- A relevant Level 2 qualification in engineering, plus grade 4 in English Language and maths and completion of a 4-week introductory course.
If you are a young person who is not currently studying a traditional GCSE programme, we will consider alternative qualifications such as functional skills and vocational qualifications.

If you do not have the entry requirements listed above you may still be accepted to study if you can provide relevant experience, a strong portfolio of work and a commitment to the subject.

This could include a Progress NTU offer, where you would receive an offer one grade below their standard offer. For instance, a typical offer for one of their courses might require 128 UCAS tariff points. With Progress NTU, your requirements would be 120 UCAS tariff points.
