The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is a respected qualification designed for project professionals who want to strengthen their knowledge and understanding across the full range of project management principles.
This adult-only (19+) part-time course is ideal if you are currently working in a project environment or looking to move into project management and want to build a recognised qualification that demonstrates your capability.
You will develop a strong understanding of how projects are planned, managed and delivered. The course explores how different elements of project management work together, and how projects operate within wider strategic and commercial environments. This knowledge can support you when managing anything from smaller individual assignments through to large-scale projects.
Whether you are looking to progress in your current role, move into project management, or enhance your professional credentials, this qualification provides a broad foundation of knowledge without focusing on a single project management methodology.

Assessed through a 2.5 hour online exam.
The exam includes 40 questions worth a total of 90 marks, covering all learning objectives in the syllabus. The question types include:
There is an optional break of up to 30 minutes between the two parts of the exam.
All students must purchase the APM Body of Knowledge to support with their studies. The latest edition costs £60.
English and maths skills are important in project management because professionals must communicate clearly and interpret information accurately. Strong English is needed to produce reports, project documentation, and stakeholder communications, while maths supports budgeting, scheduling, and analysing project data. Within the APM Project Management Qualification, these skills help project managers plan work effectively, monitor progress, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
