This adult-only (19+) part-time course is ideal if you want to develop specialist knowledge in personal taxation while balancing study with work or other commitments.

This course provides fundamental knowledge of the three most common taxes affecting individuals in the United Kingdom:

  • Income Tax
  • Capital Gains Tax
  • Inheritance Tax

You will develop the skills to prepare tax computations and understand how taxpayers can legally minimise their overall tax liability.

Key areas covered include:

  • Taxation of employment income
  • Land and property income
  • Investment income
  • Capital gains tax

Both the practical and theoretical aspects of taxation are explored, including the implications of failing to comply with tax legislation.

This qualification is particularly valuable for those working in accountancy practices or finance roles that involve tax responsibilities.

Do not worry if you have been out of education for some time. Our tutors have many years of experience supporting adult learners back into the classroom and will guide you every step of the way. You will learn in small classes alongside other adult learners, supported by knowledgeable tutors who make complex topics accessible and relevant.

AAT qualifications offer you professional status that reflects the skills you have worked hard to gain. For further information on AAT courses and qualifications, please visit the AAT website.
