Machinist Apprentice

  • What will the apprentice be doing?

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (but not limited to)

    • Precision machining of aerospace components to tight tolerances using appropriate methods: lathes, honing, drilling, turning, reaming.
    • Self-inspection of work and completion of Quality Control documentation.
    • Involvement in Continuous Improvement activities to improve the manufacturing process.
    • Demonstrate and advance safe and environmentally responsible working practices.
  • What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

    This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Engineering Campus. This attendance is required during term time only.

    You will work with expert assessors and tutors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

    You will experience a blended learning model.

  • What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

    The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a skilled CNC Machinist, with opportunities for internal progression.
