Teacher: Chef production

Biography

I studied at West Notts College for four years, achieving levels 1, 2 and 3 which gave me the foundation knowledge and skills I needed to start my career journey.

Having done a few placements and part-time jobs at hotels, I worked at large mass catering events such as the British Grand Prix and restaurants near and far whilst at college so I could learn a variety of catering styles. I finally decided that fine dining was my focus.

I went on to work for Rick Stein in Cornwall from college and then on to a variety of Michelin star restaurants to progress my ability and build my CV and repertoire of skills at the highest levels.

I began working at college part-time on my day off whilst still working in industry and then began full-time as a chef teacher.

I still have a great passion for this sector and still go and work in industry to keep my own skills updated as our industry is always evolving.

It’s an amazing industry to be part of and it can take you anywhere you want if you’re willing to work hard!!
