Biography
I spent 12 years of my early career working in the painting and decorating industry, where I gained qualifications to advanced craft Level 3 and construction supplementary studies as well as an ONC certificate. I taught painting and decorating at Kirklees College, Huddersfield before deciding to move to Nottinghamshire.
Following this move, I spent nine years teaching computing to students at West Nottinghamshire College and then changed roles to supporting students with barriers to learning in education. I then decided to return to my routes and teach in the painting and decorating department.
It has been refreshing to link back with industry while teaching the next generation of painters and decorators the skills that will allow them to go out into the community or industry and flourish.
There’s nothing more rewarding than supporting students to realise their dream of getting a job in their chosen career path.
I love to travel and experience new cultures and cuisines from around the world.
