We care about keeping your personal information safe and protecting our college’s online resources. To make your accounts more secure, we haved added an extra layer of protection called Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

This means that when you sign in to certain online services, such as Microsoft 365, or any other services which authenticate using your Microsoft 365 credentials, from outside the college campus, you'll need to confirm your identity in an extra step. This helps keep your account safe from unauthorised access.

  • What is MFA?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) improves security by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password. Even if your password becomes compromised, MFA helps keep your account secure.

  • Why MFA?

MFA becomes mandatory from Monday 31 March 2025.

  • When did this start?

    • On-campus access: No changes - you can continue to log in as usual.
    • Off-campus access: When logging in, you’ll be prompted to verify your identity using a secondary method through a mobile app.

  • What this means for you

    1. Enrol in MFA by following our step-by-step setup guide.
    2. Use a smartphone or tablet to complete the verification process. (Please note: the app does not run on smart watches.)

If you don’t own a smartphone or tablet and need to access your account remotely, you can request an MFA token - a small portable device that provides secure access. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
    to arrange this.

  • What you need to do

MFA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access and helps maintain a safe, secure digital environment for everyone at the college.
