Overview

The purpose of this programme is to introduce the theory, concepts and the science behind solar PV (photo-voltaic) technologies, including the fundamental concepts of solar energy, electricity, how solar PV panels and arrays are constructed and function. It covers their workings, installation and how green funding can be accessed to accelerate their deployment.

This programme is suitable for learners with a interest in sustainable technologies and those who wish to develop the skills necessary for a career in this industry (including those learners studying engineering, plumbing, construction and multi-skills).

This course is free for adults aged 19+.

While this course may be offered to you free of charge, failure to complete the course may result in a £125 administration fee. This fee covers the administrative costs associated with non-completion. Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements, however learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

All applicants must live in England and NOT live in one of the locations listed here.

20 hours over 3 months

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by online multiple choice assessment. Final assessment is made up of two multiple choice tests with a pass rate of 60% covering the theory and the practical instillation of solar PV.
