This course is specifically tailored to provide you with advanced skills, knowledge, and behaviours necessary for the field. Its primary goal is to equip you with the expertise needed to excel in architectural joinery. By completing this course, you will be well-prepared for progression into an apprenticeship or full-time employment allowing you to pursue a successful career in the industry.
Throughout the course, we will provide advanced theoretical - what you need to know and practical hands-on sessions, to put into practice what you have learnt to ensure a well-rounded understanding. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in industry and community-based projects and rewarding trips and visits.
Our esteemed partnerships with industry employers like Persimmon Homes, Willmott Dixon, Mansfield District Council, and Bolsover Council will open doors to valuable work-related opportunities. These partnerships ensure that you develop the skills and expertise that employers in the industry actively seek.
Based at our state-of-the-art Station Park - Construction campus in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, you'll have access to exceptional facilities that rank among the best in the sector. With practical areas and classrooms in close proximity, you'll have the ideal environment to refine the specialist skills and techniques required for your chosen trade, ensuring you're well-prepared for future employment opportunities.
What will I study?
- The principles of construction
- Planning and preparation for architectural joinery production
- Use of woodworking machinery
- Architectural joinery component production
- Assembly and finishing of architectural joinery products.
- Entry requirements
- GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 3-9
OR
- Successful completion of the Carpentry and Joinery - Level 1 course.
If you are not studying a traditional GCSE programme, we accept alternative qualifications like Functional Skills and vocational courses. If you are not planning on sitting GCSE exams, we can also support you with completing an English Language and Maths assessment. Please contact our admissions team for further details:
