What will I study?

Our experienced instructors will guide you through handling various emergency situations for babies and children, including:

  • Anaphylaxis and allergic reactions
  • Assessing an emergency situation
  • Asthma
  • Bites and stings
  • Burns and scalds
  • Choking
  • CPR and defibrillation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive infant or child
  • Diabetic emergencies

  • External bleeding
  • Eye, ear and nose conditions
  • Febrile convulsions
  • Fractures
  • Head, neck and back injuries
  • Hypovolemic shock
  • Meningitis
  • Minor injuries
  • Poisoning

  • The roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider
  • Treatment for hot and cold body temperatures.

    • This course is only available to adults aged 19+.
    • No formal qualifications are required to take this course.
