Overview

The Springboard to Work programme will support students aged 16-18 years, who wish to improve their English language skills and move onto further study.

The course offers modules in English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills alongside a vocational subject taster.


What will I study?

  • ESOL speaking and listening qualification at Entry, Level 1 and Level 2
  • ESOL reading qualification at Entry, Level 1 and Level 2
  • ESOL writing qualification at Entry, Level 1 and Level 2
  • Tasters in vocational subjects such as hairdressing, brickwork, animal care, catering, joinery, plumbing, beauty therapy, music, arts, media, plastering, painting and decorating – try a course to see what you wish to develop and qualify in.
  • Entry requirements

    There are no formal entry requirements. We will assess your English language skills and ensure you study the right level of ESOL qualifications and vocational tasters.

  • Assessment
    • Exams for the ESOL reading and writing qualifications 
    • Oral tests for the ESOL speaking and listening qualification
    • Vocational tasters will not be assessed in the first year.
  • Progression
    • Higher level ESOL course
    • Further vocational study in your chosen vocational subject.
