Overview

This adult-only (19+) part-time course is designed for those who work, or wish to work, with children and young people in an educational setting.

Whether you are currently employed or volunteering as a teaching assistant, cover supervisor, bilingual support assistant or special educational needs assistant, this course will help you gain a recognised qualification and develop your professional skills.

On successful completion, you will achieve the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning.

If you have been out of education for some time, do not let that hold you back. Our tutors have extensive experience supporting adults returning to study and will help you build confidence in a friendly and supportive classroom environment.

  • Fee - £2,225

Don’t let paying for the course hold you back from achieving your goals. You can split the cost of this course over four instalments. If you wish to pay in instalments, you will be required to pay 25% (£556.25) of the total fee on the day of enrolment and a Direct Debit mandate would then to be completed to enable the college to collect further three bi-monthly payments of £556.25. The payments will be taken on the date you choose on the Direct Debit mandate form.

  • Entry requirements

    This course is only available to adults aged 19+.

    • Completion of the Teaching Assistant and Early Years Educator - Fast Track to Level 3 induction course and a satisfactory DBS check if you're not currently in employment within an early years or foundation stage classroom environment.
  • Assessment

    You will be assessed through coursework, one-to-one reviews and observation of practice within the early years sector.

  • Progression
    • Teaching assistant in schools and colleges
    • Teaching and learning mentor
    • Higher level teaching assistant 
    • Progression to higher education including FdA Education or degree in Primary Education (QTS)*.
