Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprentice

Logistex are looking to add to their established team a Mechatronics Maintenance apprentice to add additional service to their team whilst learning at West Nottinghamshire College.

  • What will the apprentice be doing?

    • Typically the work would cover a broad range of activities including installation, testing, fault-finding and the ongoing planned maintenance of complex automated equipment. This requires the application of a blend of skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines
    • As a mechatronics apprentice, you will need to develop a solid grasp of the core job skills and then apply them in the workplace in a logical and systematic approach. You will learn how to carry out complex fault diagnosis and repair on high-technology engineered systems - including mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and electronic equipment - and how to use and interpret engineering data. You will need to comply with statutory regulations and stringent organisational safety requirements
    • Follow Company Health and Safety procedures
    • Attend College on day release when required
    • Attend any additional training or academical courses required
    • Attend the B&Q Worksop distribution centre during the working week
    • Comply and follow instructions and guidance provided by the engineering staff
    • Carrying out such tasks and duties as directed by the Departmental Technical Supervisor/Team leader that are calculated to contribute to the requisite levels of performance and competence
    • To help and support the onsite engineering in the maintenance and breakdown engineering duties
    • Additional hours or weekend work may be required to facilitate additional engineering training experience
    • Attend reviews and achieve the set training milestone requirement of the apprenticeship
  • What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

    Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Level 3.

    This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Engineering Campus (NG17). This attendance is required during term time only.

    You will work with expert assessors and tutors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

    You will experience a blended learning model.

  • What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

    On successful completion of apprenticeship, a full-time position with be offered to the correct candidate.
