Apprentice CNC Turner and Miller

  • What will the apprentice be doing?

    • Shadowing our skilled machinists to learn the fundamentals in CNC and manual machining and best practice
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and programming CNC Milling machines using Heidenhain control on and Fanuc control within our Turning department
    • Knowledge of various machining techniques and equipment, feeds and speeds and tooling
    • Ability to use precision measuring tools and instruments
    • Understanding of materials properties and selection
    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
    • Health and safety awareness and compliance
    • Time management and organisational skills
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
    • Learning all aspects of machine maintenance
  • What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

    This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Engineering Campus. This attendance is required during term time only.

    You will work with expert assessors and tutors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

    You will experience a blended learning model.
