- How can I support my child through the enrolment process?
You can support your child by helping them prepare for their enrolment appointment and making sure they have everything they need, such as their exam results, identification, and any required documents.
Encourage them to read any emails or letters from the college carefully and to ask questions if they’re unsure about anything. You can also help them plan travel to campus and attend with them if appropriate. Most importantly, reassure your child and celebrate this next step - it’s an exciting start to their college journey.
- What happens if my child can’t make their enrolment date?
If your young person is unable to attend their enrolment appointment, it’s important to let the college know as soon as possible. They can contact the college’s Admissions Team to rearrange their enrolment or receive guidance on what to do next. In most cases, an alternative date or online enrolment option can be arranged to ensure they don’t miss out on their place.
- How does the college ensure that my child receives the necessary support when they start?
We provide a comprehensive support system to help every learner settle in and succeed from day one. Each student is assigned a personal or progress tutor who monitors their academic progress, attendance, and wellbeing. The college also has dedicated support teams who offer personalised support for any emotional, social, or learning needs.
If your child has a learning difficulty, disability, or medical condition, The Inclusion Service Team will work with them to create an individual support plan. In addition, learners can access financial advice, career guidance, and mental health support to help them overcome any barriers to success.
The college’s goal is to ensure every learner feels safe, confident, and fully supported throughout their time at West Notts College.
