Returning to education is an exciting step – and by choosing West Notts College, you’ve made the right choice. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Below you’ll find everything you need to know about applying for our 19+ courses.

  • Step 1 – Find your course 

    Browse our courses online and choose a subject that matches your interests and career goals.

  • Step 2 – Apply

    Most of our courses can be applied for online. Simply visit the course page you’re interested in and click the green ‘Apply now’ button – you’ll then be guided through the online form.

    For courses in the community or part-time programmes, you can apply online, by email or over the phone. The exact details will be shown on the course page.

  • Step 3 – Acknowledgement

    Within 48 hours of submitting your application, you’ll receive an acknowledgement email. Haven’t heard from us? Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so we can check your application.

  • Step 4 – Interview or information event

    For some courses, you may need to:

    • Speak with a tutor over the phone, or
    • Attend a curriculum information event (which may include a short assessment in English, maths or relevant skills).

    Assessments are designed to help us place you on the right course at the right level. If you need extra support or have specific requirements, let us know – we’ll make sure you get the help you need.

    No qualifications? No problem. Talking with a tutor or completing an assessment helps us match you to the most suitable course.

  • Step 5 – Your offer

    • If your course doesn’t require an interview or assessment, you’ll move straight to the offer stage.
    • If you have attended an event or completed an assessment, your offer will follow once you meet the entry requirements.

    If you’re not successful, don’t worry – we’ll connect you with our Careers Team, who will help you explore alternative courses or next steps.

  • Step 6 – Accept your place

    Once you receive your offer, simply accept it to secure your spot.

    If your course requires you to attend a welcome event, details will be sent directly to you by the course team.

  • Step 6 – Enrolment and getting started

    Full-time courses

    • In July, you’ll receive a letter confirming your enrolment date in August.
    • Enrolment takes place face-to-face at our Derby Road Campus, where you will:
      • Meet your tutors and support teams
      • Receive your student ID card
      • Get your induction timetable

    This is also the perfect time to meet your peers and prepare for your first term.

    Part-time courses

    • From July, you’ll enrol either online or over the phone (between 9am–4pm with our Learner Records team).
    • Only GCSE students begin enrolment in June.

    Financial support

    From June, we’ll provide full details on Advanced Learner Loans, bursaries and childcare support, including how to apply.

    Once you’ve completed enrolment, you can look forward to starting your exciting new chapter with us.
