Self-employment and setting up your own business

If you are thinking of becoming self-employed or starting up your own business, it is really useful to get as much advice and guidance as possible about this. The Careers Team at Vision West Nottinghamshire College are happy to arrange careers interviews to help you to look at the advantages and disadvantages of becoming self-employed or setting up a business. Often, they will also refer to other professional contacts to help you to research your self-employment and business plans.

Please find some links below that will help with your research. There are a few sources of grant funding currently available across Ashfield and Mansfield. We also have a Business Adviser from BIPC, Business and IP Centre Nottinghamshire, who can come into college to advise about starting your own business, so if you would like to speak to them then please contact us to discuss this further.
