Applying for Higher Education student finance
Student Finance is money that you can apply for to pay for your higher education course and to help with your living costs whilst you are studying.
It is made up of two main parts:
- a repayable student loan for tuition fees - to cover the cost of your tuition fees
- a repayable student loan for maintenance - to help with accommodation and other living costs
In addition there may also be other money that you can apply for, dependent on your personal circumstances.
To apply online, please visit the student finance website
- To start you application click on ‘Student finance login’
- On the next page click on ‘Start now‘
- On the next page click on ‘Create an account’
Follow the onscreen instructions and complete the application.
During this process you will create a username, a password and a customer ID number.
Ensure that you keep these details safe as you will use them to login after this initial registration.
