Certificate in Women's Hairdressing (Intermediate) - Level 2
Overview
This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a hairdresser/stylist including the mandatory units which include, working in the hair industry, health and safety, client consultation, shampoo and conditioning hair, cutting women's hair and the art of dressing hair.
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of anatomy, health and safety, client consultation, and products, tools and equipment.
You will also develop a range of technical skills enabling you to effectively consult with clients, shampoo and condition, and cut and finish their hair.
You will also develop interpersonal skills, which will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.
Please note - your timetable will include one late evening per week.
If you plan to use the college bus service, please be aware that this does not currently operate in the evenings, therefore you would have to make your own travel arrangements home.

Entry requirements
- This course is only available to 16-18 year olds.
- Grade 3 in either English or maths
Study programmes - essential skills for employment
As an entry requirement on some of our courses, you will need a GCSE in both English and maths with at least a grade 4/C (please see entry requirements above).
If this isn’t displayed under the entry requirements and you don’t currently have a GCSE in both English and maths at grade 4/C or above before joining us, you will then study English and maths as part of your programme with the aim of achieving a qualification with at least a grade 4/C. This is to help improve your chances of employment once you leave us.
In addition, to help you gain essential skills for employment, all students aged 19 and under and studying a full-time course with us will take part in our study programmes.
