Women's Entry into Trades Programme - Level 1
Overview
With more women entering careers in the construction industry, this course, aimed specifically at women, provides a range of basic training concentrating on the main elements of the industry.
This 12-week programme, created in partnership with the Women’s Trade Network, will provide the opportunity for individuals to gain valuable experience before considering a career in the trades sector, with the option of going on to study at Level 2 in one of the main trades.
Students will be introduced to:
- Health and safety
- Brickwork
- Joinery
- Plastering
- Tiling
- Plumbing
- Painting and decorating.

Each course will run for 12 weeks at 9am -2pm each Monday and Tuesday.
Cost
West Nottinghamshire College will cover the cost of training and the test. Students will need to purchase their CSCS card for approximately £30 upon successful completion of the course.

There are no specific entry requirements for women who are interested in this course.
How long is the course?
The course will run for 12 weeks on a Monday and Tuesday.
How will I be assessed?
Each candidate is required to undertake a test at the end of the course which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and course criteria for the qualification.
The qualification is graded pass or fail.
