Overview

This is a 10-week induction course taken prior to attending the Diploma in Supporting for Teaching and Learning (Teaching Assistant) - Level 3 or the Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) - Level 3 courses.

This course is designed to prepare you for working within a childcare setting/school and assess the most appropriate progression route for you.

You will receive underpinning knowledge relating to a variety of units to prepare you for study and working with children.

This course is designed to recognise and develop the skills of those who work or volunteer with children and young people within an educational or childcare setting, and to identify if they would like to continue with a career in childcare.

You may be volunteering as a classroom assistant (primary/secondary or in colleges) special educational needs assistant or subject specialist teaching assistant. Or, if you're following the early years pathway, you may be volunteering or employed in an early years setting (day nursery or foundation stage within a primary school).
