Overview

This course will help you develop the skills required in providing body massage treatments.

You will learn about the classical Swedish massage movements and will be required to adapt massage techniques to suit individual client needs.

You will also learn about health, safety, hygiene and client care.

A minimum of  a Level 1 functional skills in English or a Level 2 beauty therapy qualification.

How long is the course?

15 weeks.

What does the course lead to?

This course will prepare you for employment as a massage therapist. You will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance.

Career opportunities as a beauty/massage therapist exist in a variety of contexts, including:

  • Working in commercial beauty salons/spas/cruise liners
  • Working in a retail concession in a department store
  • Working independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings.
