    Head coach at Mansfield Giants Basketball Academy

    Academy head coach Dan Richards is a former international and professional basketball player. With playing experience in ten different countries and after retiring as a player at the age of 34, Dan now has a keen interest in junior development.

    Dan has coaching experience from the senior men's national league down to grass routes, and a proven record of accomplishment of getting players to he highest level.

    Recently Dan has turned his attention to performance. He has been the head coach of the Nottinghamshire U13s boys team, assistant coach for the East Midlands U13s girls regional team, and this summer he was appointed head coach for the East Midlands U17s boys regional team.

    Dan was one of a select group of coaches to attend the U14s boys Basketball England BE together camp in Worcester, and is the assistant coach at the East Midlands Regional Performance Centre.

    This season 2015/16, Dan guided the Mansfield Giants U14s team to the Final Fours national play off competition in Manchester.
