This course will provide opportunities to develop advanced coaching skills whilst developing inclusive coaching to a wide variety of different groups.
Studying a CIMSPA course will allow you to achieve qualifications throughout the course. So, you can start employment within the industry early. Through this course, you will acquire valuable knowledge and skills that will empower you to pursue a fulfilling career in this field. You will develop effective, skills, knowledge, and behaviours to deliver high quality coaching sessions for mixed abilities across all specialisms. These skills will be closely monitored and evaluated whilst on work placement.
This course will enable you to deliver advanced multi-skills coaching sessions that enhance participation rates whilst supporting individuals to develop their sporting abilities. By completing this course, you will be well-equipped to thrive in this exciting and fast-paced industry.

Work placement is a mandatory part of this course. To gain the most experience in coaching, we highly recommend that you look for opportunities in grass roots coaching, primary school sport and community provisions.
Entry requirements
- This course is only available to 16-18 year olds.
- Grade 4 in English or maths, plus two other GCSEs at grade 3.
- Or completion of the CIMSPA Practitioner Professional Qualification - Coaching Route (Intermediate) - Level 2, and grade 4 in English or maths.
- Or a Level 2 coaching qualification.
If you are a young person who is not currently studying a traditional GCSE programme, we will consider alternative qualifications such as functional skills and vocational qualifications.

Study programmes - essential skills for employment
If you're a student between the ages of 16 and 18 (or 19 to 25 with an EHC Plan) we want to make sure you have the best possible chances of landing an awesome job once you finish college.
Students who haven't achieved a grade 4/C in GCSE maths or English to continue studying these subjects while you're here with us. By doing so, you'll be building a strong foundation of skills that will significantly boost your employability in the future.
Think of it as a chance to supercharge your knowledge and abilities. You'll be equipped with the tools necessary to tackle the world beyond college with confidence. Plus, we'll be right here to support you every step of the way.
In addition, to help you gain essential skills for employment, all students aged 19 and under and studying a full-time course with us will take part in our study programmes.
