T Level in Management and Administration - Level 3
Overview
Do you dream of being a future manager or leader? This course allows you to gain an understanding of what is needed to work within an administrative or managerial role. Topics covered include business context, people, quality compliance, project, and change management.
This course is suitable for anyone interested in a career in management and administration. Career options might include office manager, manufacturing supervisor and medical secretary.
A learner who completes this qualification is well placed to develop to full occupational competence with the correct support and training.
What are T Levels?
T Levels have been designed in partnership with businesses and industry-leading employers so you can develop the skills and knowledge required to kick-start your career straight from college.
As an alternative next-step after GCSEs, a T Level is a nationally-recognised Level 3 qualification that is equivalent to three A Levels or a Level 3 vocational programme and includes a 45-day (315 hours) work placement with a reputable employer within your chosen industry.
The qualification splits into core content and specialist content:
- Core content - develop your general understanding of the industry.
- Specialist content - covers different topics depending on the pathway you choose.

* If you are aged 19-23 and studying your first Level 3 course then that course may be free. Please contact us for more details. If you are aged 19 or over and either studying a second Level 3 course or qualifying Level 4, 5 or 6 course you may be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the costs.

Industry placement:
Across the two-years, you will need to complete an exciting 45-day (315 hours) industry placement with a reputable employer. Throughout the summer and your first term, a dedicated work placement advisor is available to support you with building links with suitable employers so you can secure your placement.
This is a great opportunity that will not only give you experience in an external business, but enhance your technical skills and create relationships that could result in an apprenticeship or employment.
Entry requirements
This course is only available to 16-18 year olds.
- A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English language, maths and a business, enterprise or administration subject.
- Or a Level 2 Extended Certificate with grade 4 in maths and English.
Study programmes - essential skills for employment
If you're a student between the ages of 16 and 18 (or 19 to 25 with an EHC Plan) we want to make sure you have the best possible chances of landing an awesome job once you finish college.
Students who haven't achieved a grade 4/C in GCSE maths or English to continue studying these subjects while you're here with us. By doing so, you'll be building a strong foundation of skills that will significantly boost your employability in the future.
Think of it as a chance to supercharge your knowledge and abilities. You'll be equipped with the tools necessary to tackle the world beyond college with confidence. Plus, we'll be right here to support you every step of the way.
In addition, to help you gain essential skills for employment, all students aged 19 and under and studying a full-time course with us will take part in our study programmes.
How long is the course?
Two years.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through examinations, applied and practical assessments in class and through a project set by your employer.
Upon completion you will be awarded an overall grade (Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*). A T Level is a nationally-recognised qualification and your certificate will reflect this and will display your overall grade.
The certificate will also explain your grade from A* to E for the core component and any occupational specialisms you will receive a Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.
It will also record whether you’ve achieved the minimum requirements for your maths and English qualifications as well as if you’ve completed the industry placement and any other additional mandatory requirements.
