Introduction to Motor Vehicle Maintenance (Women only)
Overview
Whether you are looking to change your career, have a passion for cars or want to learn the basic skills to care for your own vehicle, this course is a great first step into vehicle maintenance.
Delivered over four weeks, you can spend one evening learning in our fantastic facilities and develop your knowledge of a variety of maintenance techniques.
As a female-only group, this course also allows you to learn alongside like-minded learners and potentially make new friends.

Cost
- £47.25 for the full six weeks.
- If you are unemployed and in receipt of a qualifying means-tested benefit, or earning less than £17,374.50 per year, this course is free.
What will I study?
On the course you will cover:
- Changing wheels
- Checking tyres for roadworthiness and legality
- Changing bulbs and fuses
- Checking and topping up fluid levels such as engine oil, brakes and power steering.

There are no formal entry requirements.
How long is the course?
The course is 2 hours per week, from 6-8pm on Thursday evenings for 6 weeks.

You can go on to study other higher level motor vehicle courses which will further develop you knowledge and skills within the industry:
- Level 1 Award in Motor Vehicle
- Level 2 Award in Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Safety
- Level 2 diploma in Light Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
- Level 3 diploma in Light Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
