Introduction to Construction Multi-Skills - Entry Level

Overview

Our course is aimed at facilitating candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in construction trade.

On this course you will develop skills in a variety of different trades. This makes the course an ideal first step into the industry and enables you to try different trades before progressing onto a specialist higher level course. Alternatively, it's a great course for anyone who wants to learn the basics in order to carry out home improvements.

The course will take 4 weeks, for a total of 24 hours and you will study in the evening on the days stated below.

  • Week Commencing - 28/11/22 
  • Week Commencing - 23/01/23
  • Week Commencing - 06/03/23
  • Week Commencing - 17/04/23
  • Week Commencing  - 22/05/23

Time

  • 5-8pm (Wednesday and Thursday)

Cost

  • If you are 19+ and unemployed and receiving the relevant benefit – the course is FREE
  • If you are 19+ and not receiving benefits, but are earning less than £18,525 - the course is FREE (please bring evidence, 1 wage slip dated within 3 months)
  • If you do not fall into any of the above criteria the cost of the course is £75

What will I study?

You will study:

  • Basic skills in bricklaying
  • Basic skills in carpentry and joinery
  • Basic skills in painting and decorating
  • Basic skills in plastering.

Entry requirements

  • This course is only available to learners aged 19+.
  • No previous experience or skills are required.

How long is the course?

The course will take 4 weeks, for a total of 24 hours and you will study in the evening.

How will I be assessed?

Practical assessment.

What does the course lead to?

Completing this course could lead to working in a junior role within construction or as a maintenance professional, either employed or self-employed.
