Introduction to CAD and 3D Printing (Construction) - Level 1

Overview

This course is ideal for anyone looking to start working with CAD software, or who already has some limited experience.

Entry requirements

This course is only available to 19+ learners.

No previous experience or skills are required.

Start dates and fees

  • If you are 19+ and unemployed and receiving relevant benefits – the course is FREE
  • If you are 19+ not receiving benefits the course will cost you £75

How long is the course?

The course will take 4 weeks, for a total of 24 hours.

You will study the course in the evenings with occasional daytime classes during holiday periods.

How will I be assessed?

Practical assessment.

What does the course lead to?

This course leads to an understanding of the use of AutoCAD, Fusion360 and Revit within your current career and will enable you to use AutoCAD to a basic standard, while designing your own projects. 

These newly developed skills will also help with personal construction design projects and hobbies.

If working in the consturction industry, these skills with enable you to progress your career.

What will I study?

You will study to understand the principles of the 2D/3D drawing environment, in terms of hardware, software and physical surroundings and the typical composition of a CAD system.

It is likely you will learn in a group, developing your skills in both practical and theory sessions. You will be assessed through practical assignments and short answer questions.
