Integrated Traineeship - Level 1

Overview

This course is designed as a route out of full-time education and will support learners in finding paid or voluntary sustainable employment or an apprenticeship.

A large part of the course will involve a work placement, this will give the learner experience within a specific sector and will also aid them to understand all aspects of working life.

What will I study?

Vocational qualification

Learners will complete an AIM Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills. This will include units on customer service and workplace health and safety which can be used in a range of job roles.

Work placement

Learners will complete a work placement with a local, reputable employer. The teacher will visit them in their workplace to monitor progress and set targets based on their performance.

Employability support

We will provide classroom support with CV building, job applications, mock interviews and job searching.  We will also provide travel training to allow learners to travel to and from their workplace.

Wider learning and enrichment

This will include life skills, budgeting, digital skills, trips and visits, guest speakers and tutorials offering a wide range of topics.

English and maths

As part of the course learners will study English and maths to upskill and improve their chances of employment. The level of English they study will  depend on what they have previously completed and could include GCSE, Functional Skills or College Certificate.


Study programmes - essential skills for employment

If you're a student between the ages of 16 and 18 (or 19 to 25 with an EHC Plan) we want to make sure you have the best possible chances of landing an awesome job once you finish college.

Students who haven't achieved a grade 4/C in GCSE maths or English to continue studying these subjects while you're here with us. By doing so, you'll be building a strong foundation of skills that will significantly boost your employability in the future.

Think of it as a chance to supercharge your knowledge and abilities. You'll be equipped with the tools necessary to tackle the world beyond college with confidence. Plus, we'll be right here to support you every step of the way.

In addition, to help you gain essential skills for employment, all students aged 19 and under and studying a full-time course with us will take part in our study programmes.
