Overview

Please note - This is a part-time course for adult learners aged 19+. Please click here to view the under 19s full-time course.

This bespoke level 2 programme offers an introduction to the different career pathways available within the sport and physical activity sector.

The course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to progress into employment within the sport and physical activity sector.

You will learn essential knowledge, skills and behaviours to be able to present yourself in a professional and approachable manner whilst understanding the importance of customer engagement and having the technical knowledge to support them.

  • This course last for 10 weeks, 6 hours per week

  • 12 - 3pm (Gym) and 4-7pm (College)

There will be a kit/uniform to purchase.

What will I study?

Entry requirements

  • Must be a confident swimmer *
  • A minimum of Level 1 functional skills in English.

* As part of the pre-requisites for the pool lifeguard, you must be able to achieve the following in a pool water test prior to commencing the course:

  • Jump/dive into deep water
  • Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
  • Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
  • Tread water for 30 seconds
  • Surface dive to the floor of the pool
  • Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits.
