Biography

Maxine joined West Nottinghamshire College as a learning support assistant in 2000. Previously working as a nursery nurse at a local school.

Maxine developed a passion for working with young people and decided that she would like to move into teaching, over the years Maxine developed and delivered a range of study programmes designed to meet the needs of students who have additional support needs. In 2008 Maxine became a programme area leader for the department.

Maxine really enjoys using technology to help develop students’ knowledge and understanding. Her current programme of study allows for students to learn how to use software to perform tasks that can be transferred into the workplace.

Maxine is dedicated and passionate about working with young people to help them gain skills, knowledge, and confidence to allow them to progress to the wider college, employment, or independent living.
