The courses will be delivered at the Boughton Community Hub and are designed to help adults build confidence, develop practical skills, and take steps toward further learning or employment.
The programme includes four courses that cover creative arts, wellbeing, family learning, and money management. Each course is open to adults of all experience levels and will be delivered in small, friendly groups to encourage participation, personal growth and professional development.
Courses available include:
The Art of the Estate – Tuesdays, 3.30-5.30pm
A community-focused art course inspired by local people, places, and stories. Participants will explore painting, drawing, and collage in a relaxed setting. No experience is needed, just curiosity and creativity.
Confidence through Craft – Tuesdays, 1-3pm
A hands-on course designed to reduce stress and build confidence through creative making. Participants will try a variety of crafts, connect with others, and enjoy the satisfaction of completing personal projects. All materials are provided.
Family Games – Wednesdays, 3.30-5pm
Fun, family-friendly sessions using board games to build literacy and numeracy skills while encouraging positive family time. Ideal for parents, carers, and children aged 5+. All games and materials are included.
Make Your Money Go Further – Wednesdays, 1-3pm
A six-week practical course offering tips to save money on everyday essentials such as food, energy, and phone bills. The sessions are designed to be simple and supportive, with no complicated maths, just useful advice that works.
In addition to these initial courses, the college is currently developing further accredited cooking and craft courses. These will offer learners the opportunity to gain 30 guided learning hours, supporting progression into more formal education or training.
The aim is to provide a clear route for those who wish to continue learning and build on their achievements. More information about this will be available soon.

“Our aim is to make learning accessible, friendly and relevant to everyday life. Whether it’s through building confidence, exploring creativity, or picking up practical skills to help at home, these courses give people the chance to grow in a supportive environment.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for residents to try something new, meet others, and take positive steps towards further learning or employment.”
