West Nottinghamshire College is calling all talented, passionate teachers, assessors, trainers or individuals with industry knowledge and experience of the construction sector to a careers event in November.

The event is catered for those who have worked ‘on the tools’ and wish to teach the next generation of construction workers and is being held at the college’s specialist construction campus on Wednesday 10 November from 5-7pm.

There are a range of teaching vacancies particularly in brickwork, plastering, plumbing, painting, decorating, carpentry and joinery.

The college has significantly invested in its construction facilities, aiming to provide an environment that mirrors modern industry, giving students real life work experience and the opportunity to learn in state-of-the-art facilities.

Assistant principal for construction and building services, Phil Clark, said “We currently have a number of opportunities to join our ever-expanding team. With the industry very buoyant currently and very high learner numbers enrolling with us at our construction and building services centre, this is a very exciting time to be joining the team. We are a passionate and motivated team and are very much looking forward to meeting people.

“I‘ve personally been working in a Further Education environment for over 20 years. If you’re looking for a career change and work well under pressure, have the ability to respond positively to challenge and possess an interest and a passion in helping to shape the lives of young people and the future of our industry, please join us on 10 November.

“There is no better feeling than having a positive impact on somebody and seeing them thrive through their education.”

The event will be held at the Construction Centre, Julias Way, Lowmoor Road, Station Park, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, NG17 7RB. To register your interest and attendance please email dawn.welch@wnc.ac.uk

Alternatively, please submit your CV and staff will consider if you have the skills and experience to match any of the vacancies.
