Introductory Diploma in Travel and Tourism (Advanced) - Level 3
Overview
This course focuses on the practical skills required to work in all aspects of the travel industry allowing you to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for successful progression.
You will study a range of specialist units including overseas holiday representative, guided tours, entertainment, ski chalet host and conference and events. Furthermore you will have the opportunity to study aspects of the aviation industry including working in an airport and cabin crew.
Trips and residentials are an integral part of the course.
Visits can include: cabin crew training with British Airways at Heathrow airport, residential visits to The Gambia, Europe or in the UK.
Industry daytrips to widen knowledge include: Swadlincote ski centre, Walesby, Alton Towers, Pantomime, East Midlands Airport and Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Start dates and fees
You will be required to pay for a overseas residential visit as part of the course. A uniform will also be required.

Trips and a residential are an integral part of this course.
The course also includes significant visits to industry where you are expected to study visitor attractions and undertake a variety of investigation and research opportunities. You will also plan and implement various events and hospitality to improve your confidence and entrepreneur skills, some events may be for charity and some may be for assessment purposes.
Entry requirements
- A minimum of of four GCSEs at grade 4 including English language and a GCSE at grade 3 in maths
- Or, a related Level 2 Diploma with a Merit grade and a GCSE at grade 3 in English language.
- Students progressing from Level 2 will need to have maintained at least 95% attendance.
If you are a young person who is not currently studying a traditional GCSE programme, we will consider alternative qualifications such as functional skills and vocational qualifications.

If you're a student between the ages of 16 and 18 (or 19 to 25 with an EHC Plan) we want to make sure you have the best possible chances of landing an awesome job once you finish college.
Students who haven't achieved a grade 4/C in GCSE maths or English to continue studying these subjects while you're here with us. By doing so, you'll be building a strong foundation of skills that will significantly boost your employability in the future.
Think of it as a chance to supercharge your knowledge and abilities. You'll be equipped with the tools necessary to tackle the world beyond college with confidence. Plus, we'll be right here to support you every step of the way.
In addition, to help you gain essential skills for employment, all students aged 19 and under and studying a full-time course with us will take part in our study programmes.
