Introduction to Management - Level 2

Overview

This qualification is aimed at practising or aspiring managers and leaders who are typically accountable to a senior manager or business owner.

The primary role of a practising or aspiring manager and leader is to lead and manage individuals and teams to deliver aims and objectives in line with organisational strategy.

The first six webinars of this course is free and fully funded by the Adult Education Budget and a non-accredited course. There is a cost if progressing to the Level 3 course. 

Once joining the course, you will have access to an exclusive online resources centre, filled with helpful guides, information sheets and learning materials.

This course is fully funded by the Adult Education Budget and a non-accredited course.


What will I study?

This course is short and concise consisting of just six free webinars which will take place on a fortnightly basis: 

  • Webinar 1: Understand the role and purpose of teams 
  • Webinar 2: Recognise the characteristics of a high performing team
  • Webinar 3: Leading, communicating and motivating a high performing team
  • Webinar 4: Channels and types of Communication
  • Webinar 5: Developing the knowledge, skills and abilities of individuals and teams; Understanding different types of development available to support individuals and teams
  • Webinar 6: Identifying and selecting development opportunities for individuals and teams; Monitoring the impact of learning and development activities on individuals and teams; Completion of Workbook 

Each webinar will be approx 1.5 hours in duration (1 hour delivery, followed by 30 minutes Q&A). 


Entry requirements

Working towards Level 2 English, over 19 years of age and meeting certain criteria on application.

How will I be assessed?

  • Webinars delivered fortnightly.
  • Study module for each webinar.

A college certificate will be issued on completion of the above.  


What does the course lead to?

The course suits those in or aspiring to work at team leader, supervisor or junior management levels.


What else can I do?

Following completion, individuals have the option to progress to a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Award in Leadership and Management - Level 3.
